DDoS attack that will impact most users. SSL errors are a result of handshake timeouts. I'm looking to see where the bottleneck is in the DDoS mitigation service.

Edit: I have applied something cheeky which is mitigating the attack and have confirmed the service is up again.

Edit 2: The attack is still ongoing, and now more aggressive, but it is not disruptive service.

A component of the DDoS mitigator had crashed overnight. I've restarted it. Sorry for those who were stuck on that page. I will make it more clear if the service is down.

Edit: The same thing happened today. The issue was the disk being fuill, I don't know how i didn't catch it last time.

Another DDoS attack started up. I'm not sure how long the downtime was I'm seeing the Kiwiflare has kicked in and is working intended. However, the intensity of the attack is such that it's still effective because most Internet traffic is going through one server.

Routine moderation tools have mangled a popular thread due to design flaws with XenForo. I am repairing the thread now. The database is locked (causing 503s globally) until it finishes.

For the record, I was trying to feature that Jamie Lee Curtis's son is a gross troon vtuber.

Global Internet access is out. VPNs to Netherlands/London should help. Tor over Clearnet also finds a direct route even when not globally available.

This was planned maintenance. It will be back shortly.

Edit (as of 3:42pm EDT): Yes, this is still planned maintenance. Expect an update later about why.

Edit (as of 3/20 9:29pm EDT): The maintenance has completed but my device has special encryption. The system I need to use to decrypt the device is unavailable. When this system is restored, global Internet access will follow.

There was a DNS outage that caused resolution for kiwifarms.net to not work. This appears to be over. I'm not entirely sure what caused it, as our DNSs are up. There is a chance it was an outage with Epik, which provides the NS records that point to the DNS.

I am going to increase the expiry of our DNS records from 5 minutes to 1 hour so that small outages do not cause these issues. We kept record times very short when we were hosting off of many VPSs from different companies expecting them to drop suddenly. Now that we haven't had hosting problems in a few months, and are using our own IPs again, it will be safe to increase the longevity of our DNS records.

Network level outage. Unusually, it seems to mostly affect non-US connections for once. Investigating it now.

Tor-over-clearnet to the main domain should work for those who cannot connect.

Edit: There is an issue at the AMS-IX. They're looking into it.
